Eta Sigma Gamma (ESG)
is a national honor society designed for both Health Science major and minor students in Health Education. ESG was first organized in 1967, with the National Office located in Muncie, Indiana, and is associated with Ball State University. With over 80 chapters nationwide, Ӱ is the fifth ESG chapter and was established in 1970 as the Gamma chapter.
Mission
To elevate the standards, ideals, competence, and ethics of professionally trained persons in the discipline of Health Education. It is built upon three pillars: teaching, research, and service.

Expectations of membership
Each member of ESG is expected to support the goals of the honor society which promote health education, as well as uphold the three pillars of teaching, research, and service.
Criteria for membership:
- Junior, Senior, or Graduate student
- HSC major, in good standing (2.7 GPA)
- Undergraduate students: no HSC grades less than a “C”
- Graduate students: no HSC grades less than a “B”
- Completed at least 1 full semester as an HSC major
- Active in HSC activities or Ӱ activities and community involvement
- Recommended by HSC faculty (full-time faculty preferred)
