Undeclared First-Time/First-Year (FTFY) ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ

All undergraduate first-time/first-year (freshmen) students are required to complete mandatory first-time/first-year advising both in the fall, to plan for spring registration, and in the spring, to plan for fall registration. Undeclared first-time/first-year students are required to complete four online modules in fall, three online modules in spring, and meet with their advisor during each semester.

Undeclared Second Year and Beyond (SY&B) ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ

 

All undeclared second year and beyond students are required to meet with their primary academic advisor in UCUA to discuss their intended major and plan for enrollment for each semester. ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ should complete the second year advising requirement by meeting with their advisor.

Continuing ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ

Undergraduate students should consult a UCUA advisor for:

  • information about Major Specific Requirements for declaration (MSR) and the major declaration process,
  • assistance in identifying or exploring a new major,
  • advice about degree progress or fulfilling university requirements
  • clarification of academic standing and academic warning (formerly academic probation) policy
  • help in understanding academic disqualification and strategizing reinstatement to ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ.

 

Changing Your Major to Undeclared

ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ may submit a request to change their major to undeclared by completing an . An advisor will reach out to you to confirm if your major has been changed or if additional action is required. Please continue to check your ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ student email regularly.

ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ in their second year and beyond are encouraged to review the University's change of major policy and attend a drop-in advising session with a UCUA academic advisor to discuss changing their major. Drop-in advising hours and instructions are available on the UCUA home page.

 

When to See a College or Department Advisor

ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ with declared majors that have questions about major requirements are encouraged to contact their college or departmental advisors.
