Dr. Elizabeth Dahab has a new single-author monograph available on  as well as from the : Poetics of Contemporary Narratives in the Arabic Diaspora. Lanham, Maryland: Lexington Books (an imprint of Rowman and Littlefield), 2024. 

This book presents a captivating exploration of the rich tapestry of Middle Eastern diasporic literature, spanning the landscapes of Canada and France. Dr. Crystal Yin Lie would like to share her recent article, published in the interdisciplinary quarterly Biography: Healing, Dementia, and the Armenian Genocide in the Intertextual Collage of Aliceheimer鈥檚鈥 explores Dana Walrath鈥檚 memoir, Aliceheimer鈥檚: Alzheimer鈥檚 Through the Looking Glass (2016), noting graphic medicine鈥檚 commitments to interrogating power relations in medical discourse, highlighting the valuable perspective of dementia experience, and revealing how by juxtaposing personal essay with the visual-verbal affordances of comics, intertextual collage, and the altered book, Walrath links her experiences of caregiving, Alice鈥檚 dementia, and Armenian history to the adventures of Carroll鈥檚 Wonderland, creating a sense of both dissonance and exploratory freedom to broach subjects that might typically be regarded as unapproachable.
