A strategic planning process by and for our community
A broad cross-section of the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ community lent their voices to a series of conversations about the university's future. The BEACH 2030 planning process invited the university community—students, faculty, staff, community members—to share varied perspectives, aspirations, and dreams to help shape the future of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ. Over 3,600 people participated. Almost half of the participants were undergrads, while nearly 30 percent were staff and faculty.
Strategic Team
The strategic team includes the President Executive Council, Planning Committee, Academic Affairs and Deans Council, Academic Senate Executive Committee, Staff Council, and Associated ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Inc.
The vision for the plan was led by President Jane Close Conoley with the support of the President’s Executive Committee including Provost Brian Jersky, Vice Presidents Scott Apel, Michele Cesca, Beth Lesen, Min Yao, Athletic Director Andy Fee, and former Vice Presidents Mary Stephens and Andrea Taylor.
Beach 2030 Planning Committee
The planning process was spearheaded by Vice Provost Dhushy Sathianathan and supported by Associate Deans Jennifer Ostergren and Daniel O’Connor, current and former Associate Vice Presidents Christopher Reese, Jeff Klaus, and Manuel Perez, Assistant Vice President Mishelle Laws, current and former President’s Chiefs of Staff Neal Schnoor and Karen Nakai, Executive Director Miles Nevin, Director Michael Gardner, Current and former Special Project Assistants Noah Kelly and Michele Baik, Communication Specialist Jordan Gibler, and Assistant to the Provost Amy Paulsen.
Deans Council
The development of the College plans was led by the Deans Council including Deans Michael Solt, David Wallace, Curtis Bennett, Tracy Maples, Monica Lounsbery, Shireen Pavri, Robin Bargar, Roman Kochan, and former Deans Cyrus Parker-Jeanette and Margaret Black.
Division of Academic Affairs
Division of Academic Affairs plans were led by Vice Provost Jody Cormack, Associate Vice Presidents Kerry Johnson, Simon Kim, Kirsty Fleming, and Jeet Joshee, and former Associate Vice Presidents Shawna Dark and Mark Wiley.
Academic Senate
Academic Senate plans were led by the Executive Committee representing Professors Jessica Pandya, Neil Hultgren, Pei-Fang Hung, Nancy Meyer-Adams, Mehrdad Aliasgari, Praveen Shankar, Christine Kang, Norbert Schürer, Eileen Klink, Praveen Soni, Lecturer Deborah Hamm, Librarian Kelly Janousek, Student Isaac Julian, and Associate Director Kristin Bonetati.
Staff Council
Staff Council plans were led by Kristin Bonetati, Ann Kinsey, Joe Phillips, Caroline Sinay Gudiel, Sharon Olson, Charleen Rice, Christina Salvador, Susan Tsuji, and Nicole Torres.
