FOR STUDENTS
Student requirements:
- Must have graduated from a Long Beach area high school (i.e., be a Long Beach Promise Student)
- Must be a junior or senior (includes students who started at Ӱ as freshmen and those who transferred from a community college)
- Must submit an online application
- If accepted, complete interviews with nonprofit organizations, City Departments, and small businesses to determine placements
- Must register for and complete an internship course in which you will set learning goals for your internship site, complete Essential Skills modules, participate in session to “design” your next career steps, reflect on your experiences, and connect coursework to your internship settings.
- Must complete a minimum number of internship hours during the semester (90-130 hours)
- Must attend ongoing professional development events with LBCIP
