What fears or anxieties did you have about going to college?

I am embarrassed to admit it, but it was my big sister who did my entire college application for me to come to ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ. This explains why I was rather clueless upon entering college.

My biggest fear was feeling so lost while attending SOAR and just not knowing how to sign up/enroll in classes. To be fair, I was not being responsible for keeping up to date with important emails and information the college was sending out. Luckily, my big sister was there to help me once again.

I have chosen to be a mentor in this program because I want to help first generation college students who may be lost like me. I want to help them navigate successfully through their college journey.

Don't let set backs and disappointments discourage you too much. Learn from them, and allow those experiences to make you stronger. By persevering you can and will finish college.

Don't take more classes than you can handle. It is better to take 12 units and do well rather than more units but having to drop classes or not doing well.

Running, swimming, jumping, doing pull ups, going to the beach, and learn more math. Spending time with my parents.
