Lead a Group Abroad

Faculty-led study abroad programs are the most popular way for ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ students to gain valuable international experience. The Education Abroad office provides guidance and resources to assist faculty members in the development and administration of these high-impact programs. In addition to short-term programs, ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ faculty can also lead semester-long experiences such as the London, Costa Rica, or Florence semester programs.

Short-Term Programs

Long-Term Programs

The Center for International Education is currently accepting applications from ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ tenure and tenure-track faculty (plus full-time lecturers on a three-year contract) who have an interest in teaching in the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Florence Semester Program in Fall 2025. The Florence Semester Program was initiated in Fall 2016 and has been very successful since its inception. Faculty teach two ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ upper-division and also act as faculty of record for a beginning Italian language and culture course (taught by an adjunct faculty member in Florence) and supervise any students who choose to enroll in an internship in Florence (for a total of 12 WTU).

Faculty members teaching in this program are expected to relate their instruction to the Italian setting to the greatest degree possible.

This is a new semester option for semester-long, faculty-led study abroad.  Faculty teach two ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ upper-division and also act as faculty of record for a South African language and culture course (taught by an adjunct faculty member in Cape Town) and supervise any students who choose to enroll in an internship in Cape Town (for a total of 12 WTU).

Faculty members teaching in this program are expected to relate their instruction to the South African setting to the greatest degree possible.

The Center for International Education is currently accepting applications from ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ tenure and tenure-track faculty (plus full-time lecturers on a three-year contract) who have an interest in teaching in the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ London Semester Program during Spring 2025. The London Semester Program has been running since 1986, in partnership with CSU Fullerton. Each campus sends one faculty member to teach two home-campus upper-division in London. ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ are recruited from both campuses and may enroll in any combination of classes from either faculty member. Faculty also act as faculty of record for a British Life and Culture course (taught by an adjunct faculty member in London) and supervise any students who choose to enroll in an internship in London (for a total of 12 WTU).

Faculty members teaching in this program are expected to relate their instruction to the London and UK setting to the greatest degree possible.

The Center for International Education is currently accepting applications from ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ tenure and tenure-track faculty (plus full-time lecturers on a three-year contract) who have an interest in teaching in the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Costa Rica Semester Program during Spring 2025. The Costa Rica Semester Program has been running since spring 2020. Faculty teach in San José, Costa Rica. Faculty also act as faculty of record for a Spanish language course (taught by an adjunct faculty member in San José) and supervise any students who choose to enroll in an internship in Costa Rica (for a total of 12 WTU).

Faculty members teaching in this program are expected to relate their instruction to the Costa Rica and Latin American setting to the greatest degree possible.

The Center for International Education is currently accepting applications from ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ faculty who have an interest in teaching in the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ South Korea Semester Program in Spring 2025. This is a new semester option for semester-long, faculty-led study abroad.  Faculty teach and also act as faculty of record for a South Korean language and culture course (taught by an adjunct faculty member in Seoul) and supervise any students who choose to enroll in an internship in Seoul (for a total of 12 WTU).

Faculty members teaching in this program are expected to relate their instruction to the South Korean setting to the greatest degree possible.
