The style of deformation paired with any observed kinematics should provide insight as to whether or not these locations fit the new model. |

The abundance of biogenic silica (diatoms) can be used to interpret ocean paleoproductivity, the interaction between the marine silicon and carbon biogeochemical cycles, and to characterize reservoir quality in highly siliceous sediments. |
