Parents and family members provide essential support for students as they begin and continue their pursuit of higher education and highly-valued degrees at Cal State Long Beach. We strive to create community among family members that is both supportive and informative.

The main point of contact is the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Parent & Family Programs, whose mission is to connect parents, family members, and supporters to the university in support of your student's academic and social transition to Cal State Long Beach.

To assist parents and family members in staying connected with the campus, Parent & Family Programs use the as a platform to share important information and resources. Create an account to get regular updates regarding placement exams, advising, research opportunities, safety, and much more.

Orientation for Parents and Family

Parent & Family Programs hosts in-person Parent & Family Orientation sessions between May and August. These one-day workshops, which may coincide with your student's new student orientation, introduce the Cal State Long Beach community, campus services/resources, university policies, and strategies for supporting your student's continued success. You'll also meet other parents and families who are new to the Beach Family.

Virtual Fireside Chats

Parent & Family Programs also hosts Virtual PFO Fireside Chats to provide you with insight on the student experience along with information, resources, and tips to help support your student's transition to life at Cal State Long Beach. These virtual sessions consist of live presentations with key campus partners followed by live Q&A sessions.
