2024 METRIC Grit Award Celebration
The 2024 METRIC Grit Award event took place on March 12 at the Games Center in the University Student Union at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ. More than 20 people attended the event including 10 current METRIC scholars, 5 faculty, and 5 family and friends of program. This billiard party was in celebration of our METRIC grit award winners:

We played billiards, discussed challenges, and celebrated what tenacity looks like.
About the METRIC Grit Award
This award is presented to a METRIC scholar that shows perseverance and grace in response to hardship. This award is for students that can rise above challenges while maintaining their compassion and integrity. METRIC Grit award recipients are students that inspire others by not giving up under the most difficult circumstance. Grit refers to a particular type of endurance or perseverance: one which, combined with passion for a goal, will enable one to make a long-term effort to reach a goal.
