Projecting Latina Girlhood: A Discussion with Filmmaker Aurora Guerrero

on Tuesday, October 22, 5-6:30 pm in the Anatol Center.

Our moderated discussion will offer a visual trajectory of Guerrero’s work, including screenings of her early film shorts, clips from her award-winning  Mosquita y Mari – one of the few feature-length and widely released films to date to center on Latina teens and feature an all-Latine cast and Latina director --  and highlights of her current and upcoming projects. There will also be a Q & A with the audience. An added bonus, ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ alum and one of Mosquita y Mari’s lead actresses, Finessa Piñeda, will also be present at the event.

This event is sponsored by CLA Scholarly Intersections and the Departments of Chicano & Latino Studies and Asian & Asian American Studies
