MR. MICHAEL HOM
Michael Hom joined the Department of Chemical Engineering at ÃÛÌÒÓ°ÏñState University, Long Beach in Fall 2014. Michael Hom received his B.S. in Occupational Health from Purdue University, Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Indianapolis, and Masters of Public Administration (MPA) from ÃÛÌÒÓ°ÏñState University, Long Beach. After receiving his B.S. degree, he worked as a compliance officer for the Indiana Department of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (IOSHA) under the Indiana Department of Labor for seven years.
Over this period, he performed health assessments on a Company's bioenvironmental exposures and risks including ethylene chloride, silica, noise, dust, hydrocarbons, hydrogen sulfide, asbestos, confined spaces and oxygen deficiencies, provided health and safety consultation to individuals, contractors, employees of a Company to comply with health and safety regulations, reviewed and evaluated reported accidents and associated injuries consistent with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines and determinations, and conducted assigned inspections: formal and informal complaints; referrals; fatalities; catastrophes and threats of imminent danger. He has over 10 years of experience related to safety and health in the work place and Government public policy.
