Day 1 Textbook Access (D1TA) is a new program at Ӱ with the goal of achieving student success through:
- Access
- Affordability
- Sustainability
How Does Day 1 Textbook Access Work?
All students are enrolled in the D1TA program by default each semester, and the cost of D1TA is charged to their MyӰ Student Center account.
- $250 for full-time
- $165 for part-time
All required textbooks will be listed in Canvas and can be accessed through the MyTextbooks Hub sidebar navigation. As a digital-first program, any textbook that is available digitally will be accessible through Canvas.
- E-books will be delivered through VitalSource, our campus digital book provider
- Courseware (assignment platforms and e-texts) will be delivered through the publisher courseware tools, which link to external publisher platform websites
If a book is not available in a digital format, a physical copy will be included at no additional cost and can be picked up at the Book Information counter inside the Bookstore. These will show in Canvas as a “print” and “ready to be picked up”.
- Physical books picked up as part of D1TA must be returned at the end of the semester
- Multiple emails will be sent about returning any physical books
- For any physical books not returned, students will be charged the replacement costs as shown in their MyTextbooks Hub and emails
Participation in the program is optional. Ӱ will have until the last day to add/drop classes without approval to opt out, which is generally 2 weeks for the regular Fall or Spring semester. Check for the exact date. Ӱ can opt out by clicking the “Opt Out” button towards the top right in their MyTextbooks Hub or by emailing D1TA@csulb.edu from their @student.csulb.edu email accounts.
