My time here at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ has been so special, and I am very sad that it will be coming to an end soon. I am so grateful to have been part of so many amazing groups on campus. I am currently going into my 4th year playing softball at The Beach. Some highlights include winning Big West Champs (2023), going to regionals at Stanford (2023), hosting camps for the youth, and playing in fun destinations such as Hawaii and Mexico! I am excited but sad for my last season with my team. It has been the best experience, and this program will always have a special place in my heart. I also have had a great experience academically. I am a president scholar and part of the honors program which also has a special place in my heart. One of my favorite things about being a president scholar is how everyone is so passionate about giving back to the community just like me. Lastly, a big part of my time here at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ comes from tutoring in the Jensen SAS center. My sophomore year (2022), I decided to apply to be a tutor for the college of natural science and mathematics. This was one of the best decisions I’ve made because not only have I met so many amazing people in my specific college, but I discovered my passion for teaching and mentoring students. I have had such a positive experience with these students that I plan on continuing tutoring for a little after I graduate.

As I was growing up, I always dreamed of playing softball at a division 1 level. I used to want to play out of state and far from home. As I got older, I realized that living my dream wouldn’tbe as special if my family couldn’t be in the stands cheering me every step of the way. Once I realized this, I knew I wanted to stay close to home, so I narrowed my search. Soon later I was recruited to play on the softball team at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ. I visited the campus and immediately knew I wanted to spend my next 4 years at the beach. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to study at first, but I knew I loved science which led me to choose biochemistry. Soon after I was accepted to Long Beach State, I was informed that I had received the President’s Scholarship. After all this, I was confident that ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ was the perfect match for me.

I am not sure of my exact post graduate plans, but I know that I want to continue going to school. Initially when I started my college career, I had a strong desire to go the medical route. I am still interested in possibly going into the medical field; however, I have found a real love in helping students understand math, chemistry, and biology. My tutoring career has sparked a passion for me which is why I am also considering becoming a teacher.

I love what the mybeach program has to offer for us seniors and our experience here at The Beach. This program provides seniors with a lot of opportunities and information during this time of transition. I am so happy that my school cares about us and our future, and I am so proud to be part of The Beach!
